A Family, seven years in the making |

Luke and I found out at Easter 2000 that we weren't ever going to have our own children.
IVF was the only route and we got second, third ... and tenth opinions,
but they were all the same: medically, it was unwise. One day I hit
the internet, punched in ‘adoption agencies’ and ‘Reading’ and there in
front of us, after years of closed doors, we suddenly found we had
options.
Luke and I applied to adopt through Parents And Children Together in
South Street. We liked them stressing the levels of support that we
could expect if we were successful. The very fact that it was
necessary made us think that they would be honest with us - about our
chances and the challenges we would face.
