“One of the best training days I have ever been to”
CARE sector professionals have hailed a conference held by charity Parents And Children Together as “One of the best training days I have ever been to”.
The event, Trauma, Empathy and Common Sense, was held in Oxford on 15 October 2009 and aimed to empower parents and professionals with strategies for coping with children who have suffered traumatic experiences.
Keynote speaker, psychotherapist Babette Rothchild flew in from the US to deliver an “inspirational” and “engaging” session about the impact of working with damaged children.
PACT Chief Executive Jan Fishwick said: “Feedback from those who attended our conference has been incredibly positive.
“Delegates have told us they found the sessions thought-provoking and went away with practical coping methods and a reminder to self-reflect.”
She said that plans were already underway for PACT’s next conference in 2011, its centenary year.
