PACT knows that adoption is a lifelong process and for all those involved it is vital that they have access to a range of ongoing support.

FACTS (Fostering and Adoption Consultation and Therapy Service) provides adopters, foster carers, professionals and birth parents an opportunity to discuss individual cases or issues related to adoption.  For example:

    • Attachment issues including obsessive behaviours lack of self discipline, aggression, low self esteem etc.
    • Contact with birth family
    • Pressures placed on adopters and foster carers by children's needs
    • The linking process and being matched with a child

The service is free to PACT families who have adopted children from the UK and PACT foster carers, but is open to others.

The FACTS team have backgrounds in clinical psychology, family therapy, social work and educational psychology.  They are all experienced professionals who understand the adoption process and the particular needs of adopted children.
