PACT Training services to transfer to WBTC
Family support charity Parents And Children Together (PACT) and local Work Based Learning Provider, West Berkshire Training Consortium (WBTC) have reached an agreement that the work of PACT Education will transfer to WBTC as from 1st February 2010.
PACT Chief Executive Jan Fishwick said the move was a positive outcome for both charities.
“We decided to close our training arm in order to focus on our work supporting families in the community and as an adoption and fostering agency.
“We are delighted that the agreement with WBTC will mean a seamless transfer for the 200 learners and the 50 organisations that PACT Education works with. It will be business as usual with no break in service for any of the learners or partner organisations.”
“The excellent reputation that has been built by PACT Education will not be lost and WBTC will now be able to add our 200 health and social care learners to the 400 within health and social care and other vocations that they currently offer.”
The members of staff transferring from PACT will be located in an additional WBTC office and training facility in the centre of Reading. Contracts with NVQ Assessors, organisations and learners will continue.
Gill Young, Director of Partnerships at WBTC added, “We are delighted to be expanding our work in the Health and Social Care profession. We know that the staff are dedicated professionals who strive for the same quality standards as WBTC and look forward to them becoming part of our organisation.”
