Breakfast and after school clubs

The Breakfast and After School Clubs provide space to relax and be quiet and space to be active. Activities include:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Roleplay
  • Tabletop games
  • Music and sound
  • Quiet area for completion of homework

Drinks and nutritious food will be provided to all children on arrival. We will ensure that all food allergies are noted and catered for.

What happens at the clubs?

Programme plans are based on the following:

  • Be healthy
  • Stay safe
  • Enjoy and achieve
  • Make a positive contribution
  • Achieve economic well-being

One aim from each outcome will be addressed across the week, Monday to Friday. However, in order to ensure that all children have an opportunity to engage in a wide range of activities and to be exposed to and absorb information in all five outcome areas, the programme will shift across the weeks. Thus children who attend on regular days but less than five days a week will have an opportunity to experience all five outcomes.

Where there are more than five weeks in a term the staff will take the opportunity to re-cap on specific areas as considered appropriate.

At the clubs, children and young people have a say about issues that affect them within the clubs as individuals as well as a collective group.

Their opinions will be sought, their views, ideas, desires and aspirations will help to shape what happens at the Clubs.

We aim to motivate, inspire and support thus contributing to helping children and young people make positive choices and achieve what they want in life.
