Riverside Pre-School

Riverside Pre-School is based next to Thameside Primary School in Abingdon, offering sessions to children aged from two years until they start school. We have a dedicated team of staff that work with the children to nurture and support their growth and development.
We have an inside space that is full of activities to keep children engaged and interested, such as
- Arts, crafts and messy play
- Construction toys
- Jigsaws and games
- Books
- Small world play
- Resources to explore the senses
We also have a large outside area that offers children a range of different opportunities, such as active play, climbing, building, wheeled toys and sand and water play. There is also a Forest School area where a qualified Forest School practitioner runs a session once a week, where children have the opportunity to join in with a range of activities such as den building and using real tools, increasing children’s ability to assess risk, gain social skills such as communication and independence and promoting good mental health.
The pre-school offers the following sessions:
Monday to Thursday
9.15am to 11.45am
12.15pm to 2.45pm
Lunch club
We also offer a daily lunch club between 11.45am to 12.15pm, which enables an extension of session or for children to be able to attend all day.
Friday
9.15am to 11.45am
A session costs £7.25 to attend, with children aged three and over able to claim for free childcare places. We also offer some free sessions for two-year-olds, through referral (please contact either us or your Health Visitor for more information).
