Parents And Children Together has a new chairman.
04 Oct 2011
Ian Hewitt was appointed as chair of the board of trustees on 1st September and takes over the reins from Malcolm Fearn, who has retired from PACT after five years as chairman.
Ian has spent the past 30 years in the oil and gas industry working for major international corporations as a senior executive. In recent years Ian has been a CEO running major UK and international businesses including holding a number of NED Board positions.
During his time living and working overseas, Ian was exposed to the difficulties experienced by children and young families living on the streets and has always wanted to do more to help.
He said: “When I was looking for a role in the charity sector, what attracted me to PACT was its work improving the lives of children.
“I am thrilled to be helping to make a difference, particularly in this special year when PACT is celebrating its 100th birthday.”
Ian semi-retired in late 2010 and has established a portfolio career providing top level consultancy support in the oil and gas sector, has established and runs a small investment company and now supports PACT as chairman. He is a chartered engineer, has an engineering degree and an MBA.
PACT chief executive Jan Fishwick said: “Ian has a wealth of experience in business and we are looking forward to him working with us all to build on the work that is done by everyone at PACT.”
