PACT Homelessness Support
PACT has been commissioned by a number of Local Authorities to deliver housing related support to families, as defined in the government initiative Supporting People and also through direct Local Authority objectives. This is delivered by our team of Family Support Workers who visit service users on a regular basis either in their own homes or other suitable location. The purpose is to enable a family to sustain their housing whether as an owner-occupier, tenant or licensee and therefore avoid homelessness, or support in moving from temporary to permanent accommodation.
Support can include budgeting, furnishings, access to benefits, utility connection, access to health, education or community activities, neighbour relations, home safety as identified in the assessment process and agreed in the support plan. The work with an individual / family can last for up to two years.
We have recently been supported by the Milton Keynes Community Foundation for our work in Milton Keynes specifically. We are very grateful to them for their support. For information on the MK Community Foundation please click on their logo.
Advocacy
PACT staff, particularly Family Support Workers who are working very closely with individual families on tenancy matters, frequently act as advocates in dealings with external institutions, meetings with statutory agencies and presentations at Court. With guidance and support individuals are encouraged to take responsibility for sustaining and managing their own affairs.
