About our work

PACT has a wealth of experience from delivering quality adoption services and community projects for vulnerable families, women and children for more than 100 years across London and the south.

In doing this we work collaboratively with a number of key stakeholders including local authorities, healthcare professionals and childcare practitioners. This enables us to confidently provide holistic services that assess and meet the individual needs of the family.

Our expertise is across the sectors of adoption, adoption support, women’s centres, women in the criminal justice system, domestic abuse, supporting people affected by adverse childhood experiences and digital support platforms for families and professionals. We welcome enquiries from organisations and local authorities to partner with us in any of these fields. Please get in touch to find out more.

Finding Families Together

PACT provides a targeted family finding service called Finding Families Together to local authorities for children who have been waiting a long time to be adopted.

These children available for adoption are often older or have additional needs and PACT is passionate about finding the very best family for them. Children PACT family finds for will have undergone a full assessment and will have a tailored support package in place including access to PACT’s strengthening families team and specialist therapeutic support service FACTS.

Families adopting through PACT will have adoption training and support through all stages of the adoption process and after placement.

To find out more about adopting with PACT see our adoption pages.

If you are a local authority who would like to find out more about PACT’s Finding Families Together adoption service please email Amanda.Davies@pactcharity.org

We also work with local authorities to help them provide their own adoptive and foster care families with access to our specialist FACTS services. We therefore understand the challenges commissioners face in meeting the needs of children and their adoptive families and we have the flexibility to ensure that all our services are high quality, outcomes-focused and excellent value for money.

Here are some examples of our work:

  • In 2020, during the Coronavirus pandemic, we partnered with Adopt London South to deliver online adoption support services to their families.
  • Our adopter diversity recruitment officer was invited to speak at a transatlantic summit for racial disparity in adoption about PACT’s work recruiting adopters for Black children waiting in care
  • We delivered domestic abuse awareness training to schools, tailored according to need, including the impact on children and how to support children affected by domestic abuse

PACT’s heritage means we have excellent local knowledge and networks that rival larger organisations, demonstrated with many local partnerships including local companies, churches, schools, and healthcare providers. This ensures we are best placed to reach the children and families most in need, and to work together, in partnerships, to ensure the best outcomes and life chances are realised.
