Alana House Building Family Bridges
Alana House's community project receives funding as part of Building Family Bridges. Due to the success of the Building Family Bridges project last year, the funding has been extended to June 2020.
Building Family Bridges is a partnership led by the Workers’ Educational Association which has received £1.1 million of funding from the Building Better Opportunities programme, which is funded by the European Social Fund and the National Lottery Community Fund. We will work in a diverse partnership to enable people to learn and engage with their community.
Alana House's aim of the project is to break down barriers and enable families to access education, training and employment. Family support workers will provide one-to-one support covering a range of needs with a holistic approach.
The eligibility for women to access support requires them to:
- be seeking education, training or employment
- currently not be in work
- have the right to work in the UK
- have at least one identified support needs under the Government's Troubled Families Programme
Our Building Family Bridges programme will be available to women in Reading, West Berkshire, Bracknell, Wokingham and the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.
