Alana House Job Skills Programme
In partnership with Groundwork London
Funded by the European Social Fund and the Education and Skills Funding Agency
Alana House is pleased to have received an Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) community training grant, through Groundwork London, funded by the European Social Fund and ESFA.
The grant contributes to the Alana House Job Skills programme which will support women in Reading from 1st July 2020 through until 31st May 2021.
Our aim for participants on the programme is that with the support they receive through Alana House, they will be able to move into, or move closer to employment, education or training.
The programme will support women aged 16 and over who face multiple and complex needs and will provide the opportunity for participants to identify and address barriers to employment, increase their confidence, explore work experience or volunteering and achieve sustainable change through employment, education and/or training.
To help enable participants to achieve these changes, they will receive regular individual and holistic support, addressing their wider needs, as well as the opportunity to explore job skills through group sessions as well as through work experience and training at the Alana House Community Café. They will also have the opportunity to participate in other group sessions and courses appropriate to their individual needs.
The eligibility for women to access support on this programme requires them to:
- need support to take steps into, or towards, employment, training or education
- currently not be in work
- have the right to live and work in the UK
- not already have taken part in a project funded by the ESF or ESFA that involves the same activities
