Blog: Meet our newest trustee

PACT would like to welcome our newest trustee, Dean Hunter. We thought it would be good to get to know him a bit better, so we asked him a few questions about himself.

1. Tell us a little about yourself…

“Originally from Aberdeen, I have been living in London since 2014. I set up an HR advisory business 10 years ago. My passion is for culture and engagement and creating world class workplaces. I have a 20 year old daughter, live with my partner and have two spaniels Ed and Duke who keep me young!”

2. Why did you want to become a trustee for PACT?

“At the end of 2021, having spent 25 years in two jobs, I knew it was time to do something different and was fortunate enough to be in a position where I could start doing the things I wanted to do rather than had to, to pay the bills. Saying that I have had a great HR career over the past 25 years and have worked and still work with some incredible people whom I call family. Joining PACT for me was driven from a place of giving kids the best chance in life, which is a great passion for me. Whether that is strengthening families or as a last resort placing a child with a new family to give them the best chance in life.”

3. What are you most excited about getting involved with?

“As the lead trustee for HR, I am already astounded by the culture that has been created at PACT, so adding to that brings excitement. I am also keen to support the senior management team and other trustees as much as I can to ensure we provide the best service possible to the children and parents who use PACT services.”

4. How would you describe PACT to someone who doesn’t know about them?

“I would say having met most of the team now, that it is an incredible group of people who have come together with the same interest in mind, the welfare of the children. It’s a very special place. Having spoken with several adopters it is clear that PACT go over and above when it comes to the quality of the services they provide.”

5. What have you learned since becoming a PACT trustee that has surprised you?

“The range of services available to help adopters and other groups in PACT is very comprehensive. They have excellent resources and tools. I am also really glad to see and feel such an inclusive culture as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, which makes me feel very much at home.”

Thank you for joining us Dean, we look forward to working with you.
