Sessional Youth Worker
PACT is one of the UK’s leading voluntary adoption agencies, rated Outstanding by Ofsted, and has been at the forefront of adoption services for over 60 years. We know that many of the challenges encountered by adoptive families can stem from their adoptive children’s adverse early life experiences. Because of these, adopted children can often have difficulties in trusting adults and forming healthy relationships within their new forever families. This is when our adoption support services can help to make a positive difference for everyone.
We are looking to expand our support services for children and young people and we are looking to source a Youth Worker.
We currently offer drama, crafts, singing, cooking, experiments, story and percussion sessions for children aged 2 – 10 years old adopted through PACT and we are now looking for someone who can help us to build on these existing activities and run some additional events for older children & young people.
The purpose of these activities is to provide the chance for the children and young people to have fun together, connect positively with each other and gain confidence within a safe and welcoming environment.
Sessions will take place in the Reading, London and Brighton areas so that we can reach as many children/young people as possible and can carry out our activities face to face with them.
Sessions are flexible and can be arranged to fit around other commitments. However, we will require some of the activities to be run during school holidays (approximately twice per week) and on some weekends (an average of two Saturdays per school term).
We can offer a competitive rate of £30 per hour for each activity event (on average, each event is 4 hours, including preparation time).
You will be well organised, energetic, and highly confident and experienced in working directly and creatively with children and their parents. You will also have some experience of working with vulnerable children within a professional capacity.
We look forward to hearing from you!
