An adoption charity is reaching out to people in North Hampshire who may consider becoming parents to a child in care.
Parents And Children Together (PACT), which has been rated Outstanding by Ofsted, supports families across London and the south east through adoption services, specialist therapeutic support and community projects. PACT already holds regular Adoption Information Events in Reading, Oxfordshire, London and Sussex but is now extending its search for adopters into North Hampshire.
There are currently more than 2,500 children waiting to be adopted in England. PACT is looking for couples or single people, including those from the LGBT community, who would like to find out about adopting children of all ages and backgrounds. In particular, PACT would welcome enquiries from those open to adopting a child with additional needs, a child of BME heritage or a sibling group of three or more as these children typically wait longer for their forever family.
PACT’s Adoption Information Event will take place in Old Basing on Saturday 25th January from 10:30am-12:30pm. Information events are led by a PACT social worker and include a talk from someone who has adopted through PACT. There will also be a chance to ask questions and talk informally to adoption staff, and there will be information to take away and read at home.
These events are free to attend but please book a place in advance by calling 0300 456 4800 or emailing enquiries@pactcharity.org. For dates and times of events coming up please see our online events calendar.
