Lisa Pitt

Lisa Pitt from Nottinghamshire is taking on the London Marathon in support of PACT’s work with children, families and the local community.

Lisa, aged 41, works as an HR consultant and said she chose to run for PACT because she specifically wanted to support a smaller charity that was less well known.

She said: “ I have always raised money for charities when I do any races, and I felt that the work that PACT do is really important and wanted to help support that.

“I ran the Manchester Marathon in 2019 where I finished in 5 hours 30 seconds. I’m really hoping to get under that five hour mark this time round, but I’m not putting any pressure on myself.”

Lisa is one of nine members of Team PACT who will be running the 26.2 miles around the streets of London on 2nd October.

She said: “London is just an iconic marathon experience and the stories I’ve heard of the crowds, support, atmosphere – I can’t wait! I’m also extremely nervous but just can’t wait to get over that start line.”

Lisa has a £1,600 fundraising target and is collecting donations to her page at https://tcslondonmarathon.enthuse.com/pf/lisa-pitt-lm22

She said: “I know that times are tough, but every pound really helps, and it really does spur you on when the pain sets in on long training runs, when you don’t feel like going out because its baking hot.

“Just knowing that people have sponsored you and believe in you is such a good motivator.”
