Marie Gratton
Marie from Reading is taking part in the iconic TCS London Marathon next month in support of women, children and families.
Marie, aged 44, is principal and teacher at Dance Sensation School of Performing Arts in Reading as well as a keen runner. She chose to run for PACT as adoption is a cause close to her heart.
She said: “A member of my family has adopted children through PACT and some of my children who attend my dance school have also been adopted through PACT. I really want to raise awareness and money to help the charity.
“I’ve ran many half marathons and ran a marathon and Endure24 in 2022 and it’s always been my dream to run London for such a great cause.”
Marie is one of seven members of Team PACT who will be running the 26.2 miles around the streets of London on 23rd April.
She has a £1,600 fundraising target and is collecting donations to her page at https://2023tcslondonmarathon.enthuse.com/pf/marie-grattonrunningthelondonmarathonforpact2023.
She said: “I’m looking forward to the crowds cheering, seeing all the people taking part, running around wonderful iconic London and taking in the incredible atmosphere. What an experience it will be and a joy to reach that 26.2 miles at the end passing Buckingham Palace.
“All the money I raise is going towards a wonderful charity that helps children find families for life.
“I am crazy about running, have been since 2018 and I am so incredibly excited about this wonderful day and finally getting to run the London Marathon. The dream is now becoming reality!”
