Berkshire Community Foundation has been an amazing supporter of PACT for many years. They are dedicated to supporting community-based organisations focused on helping disadvantaged Berkshire. The Foundation works in partnership with individuals, businesses and local organisations to raise funds and guide their giving decisions in order to maximise their positive impact on local communities.
The support from Berkshire Community Foundation, especially since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, has been crucial to PACT and has helped us to continue to deliver our services when they have been needed the most. In March 2020, through the Foundation’s Coronavirus Emergency Fund, we were able to rapidly adapt Alana House services by purchasing a Zoom license, mobile phones and sim cards for the women ensuring they had access to the services during lockdown. We also received a grant to support women experiencing food poverty to receive food parcels and ‘Healthy Eating on a Budget’ sessions, as well as funding to enable our BB4K team to pilot a new domestic abuse programme for children under the age of 5.
Besides the generous financial support, Berkshire Community Foundation has shown their support to PACT by attending our Open Garden fundraiser for Alana House in July and by inviting us to their Afternoon Tea where they celebrated the contribution of local organisations like PACT and their volunteers in supporting the community during the pandemic. At the event our CEO and volunteers had the pleasure of meeting HRH Prince Edward and sharing some of PACT’s work with him.
