Harry after finishing both races

Harry, adopter and marathon runner

Harry and his wife Claire adopted three children through PACT five years ago. Their children came home to them when they were aged three years, two years and 10 months old.

Earlier this month, Harry decided to run both the London Marathon and the Oxford Half Marathon within the space of two weeks to raise money for PACT. He chose to set himself this extraordinary challenge as a way to support PACT’s work creating families through adoption and supporting families for life.

After months of training and preparation as well as some difficulties in the weeks running up to the challenge, Harry put amazing effort into both races and completed the London Marathon on 3rd October followed by the Oxford Half on 17th October.

Harry asked friends and family to sponsor him over the course of both runs. In total, he raised a fantastic £2,387 (including Gift Aid) to support PACT’s work!

After completing his challenges, Harry said:

“I don’t enjoy “going for a run” but I do it because of what it can help you to achieve.  Running London and Oxford, I was alongside thousands of people in all shapes and sizes, young and old, carrying ridiculous items or wearing fancy dress. People running for themselves, for loved ones, for a personal best time or to challenge themselves beyond what they had previously achieved.  The similarity between us is we all had a reason to run, mine is my children.”

Congratulations Harry on your incredible achievements and thank you for supporting PACT: you are a superstar!
