Lily began volunteering for PACT in March 2020. She chose to work at PACT for her placement year as part of her psychology course at the University of Reading. She has spent her time working in PACT’s communities team, supporting Alana House women’s community project and Bounce Back 4 Kids domestic abuse recovery programme.
During her placement year, Lily was always keen, enthusiastic and hard-working, providing fantastic support to her colleagues. She helped the BB4K team plan and deliver group sessions, virtual workshops and one-to-one support, organising information packs, paperwork, timings and logistics to help the sessions run smoothly and adapting the groups in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Lily also set up a new BB4K lending library service to help parents access books to use with their children.
As well as supporting BB4K, Lily assisted the Alana House team by helping with the planning and delivery of groups for the women, posting materials out to clients, supporting with events, working on PACT’s client database and assisting with social media.

“It has been an absolute pleasure working with PACT and alongside the amazing women who make up the Alana and BB4K team, as well as working with all our services users. PACT has been a wonderful environment to work in and has given me great opportunities and experience. I have felt valued and supported by PACT throughout my time as a volunteer and placement student and I can’t praise them enough. The work we do is just brilliant and I am delighted that I got to be a part of it and I hope I have been able to make a difference to people’s lives in some way. Even though my placement has come to an end, I will be back to carry on volunteering with the BB4K in future groups! PACT will always have a place in my heart. Thank you thank you thank you!”
Lily plans to carry on volunteering with PACT now that her placement year has come to an end.
Thank you so much Lily for all your hard work and the amazing support you have provided to our teams: you are a PACT superstar!
