The preparation course is for all PACT prospective adopters to complete in Stage 1 of the adoption process.
The course is run over four days (two days face-to-face and two days online) and the course will cover:
- Day 1: Child’s journey – legal process, identity, loss, contact and early permanence (in-person)
- Day 2: Brain development, attachment and creating a safe base (online)
- Day 3: Child abuse, safeguarding and Theraplay (in-person)
- Day 4: Children waiting, parenting the adopted child and the process of being linked with children (online)
