Adopting siblings

“Three is amazing, challenging and the best thing ever for both the kids and us”

PACT adopter Laura

Could you adopt brothers and sisters and keep them together?

Often there are groups of brothers and/or sisters in care who really need to be kept together for a sibling adoption. PACT adoption is looking for some very special adopters who can take a sibling group of two or three children. Last year, 63% of the children PACT placed in loving families were in sibling groups.

Finding adopters with the skills and space for more than one child is crucial so that these brothers and sisters can be adopted together. PACT is looking for a range of adopters from all backgrounds who can consider welcoming siblings into their homes.

This short film interviews a family who adopted three children through PACT.

FAQs

PACT is dedicated to supporting our families through the lifetime of their adoption journeys.  We offer specialist adoption support and therapeutic services through our Strengthening Families Team, our online Children And Trauma Community Hub , our Adopter Champions team and our specialist Family And Children Therapeutic Support (FACTS) service. The Adoption Support Fund is also available for the emotional and behavioural needs for children placed up to and after an adoption order is made. Ideally there needs to be a room for each child or the capacity to make separate bedrooms in the future.

PACT has assessed families for large sibling adoption groups and is very experienced in this type of assessment, matching and placement for such families. PACT’s dedicated team of Placement Officers are committed to finding the right match for PACT families.

PACT has a team of Adopter Champions who have a variety of different adoption experiences including adopting siblings and are available to speak to prospective adopters.
