Single parent adoption

It is a common myth that to adopt, you need to be in a relationship. Lots of our adopters are single parents who successfully adopted one or more children through PACT. However, currently we are only able to take forward a limited number of single applicants as we have a large number of single approved adopters waiting to be linked with children.

PACT offers support for life to its families and will support parents and children every step of the way. Our support services include our Strengthening Families Team, the Children And Trauma Community Hub , our Adopter Champions team, support from our Education Lead, our Family And Children Therapeutic Support (FACTS) service and a range of training and support events.

A good first step is to download our adoption guide to find out more about the process.

Once you have downloaded and read through our Guide to Adoption, we recommend that you speak to one of PACT’s Enquiries Officers. They can give you some more information, answer any questions you may have and book you onto a  PACT Adoption Information Event where you will hear a bit more about the adoption process from PACT social workers and a PACT adopter will share their story.

Our Enquiries Line is open 10am-5pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10am-8pm on Tuesday and Thursday, and 10am-1pm on Saturday. You can also fill in our enquiry form here.

We welcome enquiries from people across the south of England. We have teams located in Reading, Oxford, London, Milton Keynes, Brighton and Devon.
