News: Grant a Wish to PACT this Christmas

Christmas may be the most wonderful time of the year for many but for those who have experienced trauma, Christmas can be a difficult time.

This festive season, adoption and trauma recovery charity Parents And Children Together (PACT) is launching its Grant a Wish Christmas Appeal to bring light, hope and joy to children, families and women to help them enjoy a brighter and happier Christmas.

PACT is dedicated to helping people heal and thrive after trauma. Through its services, the charity:

  • Creates families through adoption and offers lifelong support to adoptive parents and children.
  • Empowers women facing multiple disadvantages through its Alana House community project.
  • Supports children heal from the trauma of domestic abuse through its Bounce Back 4 Kids (BB4K) programme.

One Alana House woman shared her Christmas wish: “I would like to be looked after and pampered for the day instead of looking after and caring for everyone else.”

And a PACT adoptive grandparent said: “We hope more children get to move into their forever homes.”

PACT is calling on individuals, businesses and organisations to support the Grant a Wish Christmas Appeal. Every donation, big or small, can make a meaningful difference. Together, we can help make wishes come true.

Each donation has the power to change lives. Here’s how donations can help **:

  • £50 could help a child who has experienced trauma and abuse to feel safe and supported this Christmas as they begin to understand their feelings and start their journey to recovery.
  • £25 could provide adoptive parents with expert guidance and support to navigate the emotional challenges Christmas can bring, helping them understand and respond to their child’s past trauma with compassion.
  • £10 could offer a woman life-changing therapy, empowering her to move forward from domestic abuse, homelessness and substance abuse and start the new year with strength and hope.
  • £5 could buy craft materials for a child affected by domestic abuse, helping them to express their feelings and reconnect with their family through creative play during the Christmas holiday. Please visit www.pactcharity.org/support-us/christmas-appeal to donate today.
