Reading has many wonderful individuals, groups and businesses going out of their way to contribute to the wellbeing of the town’s residents. John Lewis Reading is one of those. John Lewis & Partners is run in a partnership – it is owned by its employees, with everyone taking responsibility for the company’s success.
PACT and Alana House have been supported by partners at John Lewis for many years. Not only has the store nominated us for financial support but they dedicate time to understand the work we do. Partner Shelley regularly visit Alana House to chat with the women who attend.
In the past few years John Lewis has given PACT space to promote our work and sell our recipe books and art prints. Partners at John Lewis have donated many items to Alana House service users moving into new homes including bedding, pots, pans and decorative items.
Partner Helen said: “John Lewis are always delighted to support Alana House & PACT. The Community Café is a wonderful place to visit. It provides a warm friendly space for women to build relationships and learn new skills. We are always given a wonderful welcome when we visit and the cakes are probably the best in town!”
