Chair of Trustees

PACT is currently recruiting for a Chair of Trustees. The successful applicant will be an ambassador for the charity, lead the charity in partnership with the Chief Executive and ensure that trustees fulfil their duties and responsibilities for the proper governance of the charity. The Chair will support and, where appropriate, challenge the Chief Executive and ensure that the Board as a whole works in partnership with executive staff.

As our Head Office is in Reading, ideally you will be based in the Thames Valley and will be able to commit an average of 2-3 days per month of your time. It is a voluntary role although travel expenses may be claimed.

Reception Volunteer

  • Based in Reading
  • Hours to be agreed; office hours are 8.30am – 5.00pm
  • This role would suit someone who takes pride in providing the best customer service possible. As an ambassador for PACT we want to continue to provide a warm, friendly, caring, efficient and professional reception service.  In this role you will look after greeting visitors and answering the phone, helping with general questions from visitors and staff, manage room bookings and help with setting up and tidying meeting rooms.   You will be joining a friendly and supportive team and training will be through an induction and informally given.

Events Volunteer

  • Based at London and Brighton 
  • Hours to be agreed
  • This is a flexible role for people who are passionate about adoption and can spare time to help with PACT's events programme which include information evenings for potential adopters, training for our adopters, manning external event stands, family fun days and carol concerts as well providing well-earned encouragement to our supporters fundraising through challenges and essential administrative support

Volunteer IT Coordinator 

  • Based in Reading
  • Hours can be flexible, within office hours
  • The IT team at PACT provides a comprehensive service to staff, contractors, trustees and volunteers. This varied role will assist the team with a variety of administrative tasks including assisting with updating equipment and supporting the business with basic queries
