Slime
Learn how to make your own slime – a super satisfying sensory activity that’s fun to squish, stretch and play with!
✅ You will need:
- 100ml PVA white glue (children’s craft glue or CE marked glue)
- ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
- Gel food colouring
- 1-3 tsps contact lens cleaning solution (must contain boric acid)
- Glitter (optional)

🥣 What to do:
1️⃣ Squeeze the glue into a mixing bowl. Add the bicarbonate of soda and give it a good stir.
2️⃣ Add 1-2 drops of gel food colouring and mix well. A small amount will create a soft pastel colour, or you can make it brighter by adding more food colouring.
3️⃣ Add 1 teaspoon of contact lens solution and mix well for about a minute. It might look like runny glue at first, but keep stirring and it’ll start turning into slime. If needed, add up to 2 more teaspoons, a little at a time, until the texture changes. Keep mixing until it starts to go stringy and pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
4️⃣ Form it into a ball and knead it with your hands, in the bowl. It’ll feel sticky at first, but after a minute or so it should become smooth and stretchy. If you’d like, add some glitter and work it in.
Store in an airtight container to keep it fresh.
💡 Why it works:
Slime offers a hands-on sensory experience that engages your sense of touch. Stretching and moulding it can help reduce tension and create a moment of calm during a busy day.
