Last week, myself and the Milton Keynes adoption team, were pleased to see so many people at the in-person adoption information event that we held on Wednesday, in our Milton Keynes office.
Online events are really convenient, but the event last week reminded us all just how great it is to meet people in person.
It seems such a perfect way for people thinking about adoption, to learn about PACT’s passion and commitment for adoption, the support we provide and work out if we are the best agency for them (we like to think so!)
There was certainly a real buzz in the room and so many great questions, like “can siblings of different genders share a bedroom?”
Social workers at PACT are passionate about finding permanent and loving families for children waiting. We love to work with prospective adopters towards making their dream of a family through adoption become a reality. Coming to an information event is an important first step in that journey. It is inspiring to think we’re meeting future adopters at our information events.
My colleague Michelle who co-led the event said: “it was a great opportunity to meet prospective adopters face-to-face and help them understand the journey ahead and what we as an agency have to offer.”
I couldn’t agree more! There was a great buzz in the room and it was fantastic to give people the opportunity to hear firsthand from our experienced PACT adopters. There were so many questions for them and their real passion, having adopted twice, was evident in their responses.”
We look forward to holding more in-person events in the future so keep an eye out on PACT’s social media. Our teams will also be at Milton Keyne’s Pride in September and MK Black History Month Art, Culture and Business Exhibition in October.
