Blog: Out and about in the Thames Valley this summer

By Grace, PACT’s Adopter Diversity Engagement Officer

I’m looking forward to a busy summer out and about in the Thames Valley with the PACT stall. As PACT Adopter Diversity Engagement Officer, I get the pleasure of going out into the community, meeting people and sharing information on adoption.

If you’re curious about adoption or wondering if it could be the right path for you, our adoption information stall is the perfect place to start.  Whether you’re just beginning to explore adoption or have already given it some thought, visiting our stall can provide the answers and reassurance you need.

Our event stalls are a welcoming space where you can:

  • Find out more about PACT and our outstanding adoption services
  • Speak to me, in person, and our friendly team and get your questions answered
  • Find out more our upcoming adoption information events
  • Get clear information: learn about the adoption process, from initial enquiry to becoming an approved adopter. We’ll break down the steps and answer any questions you may have
  • Bust common myths, many people believe certain misconceptions about adoption – such as thinking that age, marital status or sexuality are barriers to adoption.  We’re here to challenge those myths and show that adopters come from all walks of life
  • Discover the ongoing support PACT offers to our adopters

There are many children waiting for permanent loving families, particularly those from Black and mixed heritage, other minority backgrounds, older children, sibling groups and children with additional needs.  If you are interested in finding out what adoption could mean for you, we’d love to speak with you.

Why not come and see us out and about this summer? I look forward to meeting you. Here are some of the places I’ll be visiting this summer:

  • Reading School Community Festival at Reading School – Sunday 22nd June
  • Caversham Churches Fete – Saturday 12th July
  • Reading Pride – Saturday 30th August

Our experienced enquiries team are also very happy to speak with you by phone: 0300 456 4800.
