Baljit, our FACTS therapist is highly experienced in adoption work and has a background in psychotherapy, social work, training and groupwork and is also trained in Theraplay and DDP.

To book your private 50-minute session, email adoptionsupport@pactcharity.org and you will be sent the full details and joining link.

Support group for LGBTQ+ adopters.

This group, led by PACT adoption staff with lived experience, offers LGBTQ+ adopters the chance to meet together virtually, to talk through challenges, ask questions, and share support, encouragement and advice. The group is for parents and parents-to-be.

A link will be provided to attend online via Microsoft Teams (full details will be sent after booking).

Please note: these sessions are only available to approved PACT adopters (with or without children placed), and those in Stage 2 of the adoption assessment process with PACT who have completed a DBS check.

This training session will focus on assisting you to help your child understand their life story through play as well as a variety of other techniques.

The aims of the course are:

• To enable you to feel confident in helping your child to understand their life story through play as well as a variety of other techniques.
• To increase your knowledge of children’s cognitive understanding of adoption as well as when and how to talk to children.
• To provide a variety of phrases that you can use with your child to help them gain a healthy understanding of their journey into your family as well as developing a positive sense of their identity.
• To give you the opportunity to share experiences with other adoptive parents.
