Alexander Barfield

Alexander Barfield is the High Sheriff of the Royal County of Berkshire. In this voluntary role, Alexander supports the judiciary, emergency services and voluntary sector in the county, carrying out around three hundred engagements in his Shrieval year. The main duty of the High Sheriff is to recognise and thank all the amazing people and organisations who quietly go about their important work in Berkshire. But today, we would like to recognise Alexander.

As a child, Alexander was adopted through PACT by a family in Berkshire and this is why, he says, the county and PACT mean so much to him.

Alexander has supported PACT in various ways during his time so far as High Sheriff. Funds were raised for PACT during Alexander’s Judicial Service, which marked the start of the Judicial year, at Reading Minster. The theme for his Shrieval year is ‘opportunities for young people’.

The High Sheriff has attended some of PACT’s fundraising events, including our annual Carols at the Minster and garden party fundraiser, where Alexander spoke about his personal connection with PACT. Alexander also joined us in the office to record some short videos for PACT’s social media. You can check them out here.

When asked about his highlights of supporting PACT, Alexander said:

“The best part is hearing all the wonderful stories and meeting various members of the PACT team and your supporters. I’ve been fortunate enough to attend some of your events and been able to champion PACT, which is what I wanted to do.”

“I am truly honoured to be nominated as PACT’s supporter of the month. I am very touched the team thought of me and it means a lot.”

We are hugely thankful to Alexander for all his time and support raising awareness of PACT’s life-changing work with children, women and families. Thank you Alexander; you are a PACT superstar!
