The Ministry of Justice is a major government department responsible for the criminal, civil and family justice systems in England and Wales. Its key roles include the administration of justice through courts and tribunals, provision of legal aid and the rehabilitation of offenders. The Ministry of Justice also works to support vulnerable individuals and victims of crime to ensure access to justice for all.
Since 2023, The Ministry of Justice has been the biggest grant funder of PACT’s Alana House Community Project. Since 2018, the Ministry of Justice has awarded grant funding for Alana House’s support services and the launch of the Community Café. The café helps service users to learn and practice valuable new skills, connect with others and engage in activities.
Most recently, the Ministry of Justice has confirmed funding of just over £350,000 for 2025-2026 for Alana House. This funding will support Alana House’s work diverting women away from the criminal justice system through providing holistic, trauma-informed support, with the aim of empowering women to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.
Sabina, Alana House’s Manager, said: “We greatly appreciate the Ministry of Justice for their support of Alana House in Reading. This funding has and will continue to support and empower women facing multiple disadvantages across Berkshire, helping to improve their outcomes. Your commitment to our work with women in the criminal justice system is making a real difference in creating a safer and more supportive future.”
We are hugely thankful to the Ministry of Justice for their continued support of the life-changing work that Alana House does. Thank you, Ministry of Justice!
