Cormac has shown incredible dedication to PACT over the past two years, taking on not just one but three marathons in support of our work. First selected as a Team PACT member for the 2025 London Marathon, Cormac raised more than £2,700 through his PACT charity place. This year, he won places in the ballot for both the Manchester and London Marathons, completing both events over consecutive weekends, bringing his total across all events to a remarkable £4,268.
Cormac first connected with PACT in 2021 when, after a long and emotional journey, he and his wife Kate were matched with their two daughters. Since then, PACT has remained close to his family’s heart, and his fundraising efforts have been a powerful way of giving back.
Reflecting on his motivation, Cormac said: “I’m incredibly proud to have completed both the Manchester and London Marathons in support of PACT this year, raising money for a charity that has had a truly life-changing impact on our family. PACT is quite simply amazing. The work they do is truly remarkable, and I will forever be grateful for their role in bringing our family together.”
“Wearing the PACT running vest meant more to me than just kit – it was a privilege and a symbol of the support that helped our girls, and us as parents, to become a family. The blisters were absolutely worth it!”
Taking on two marathons in just eight days was no small feat, but Cormac’s determination never wavered. His young daughters followed his journey closely, cheering him on from the sidelines and giving him the motivation to push through the toughest moments.
He added: “Even at their young age, our daughters understood why I was running, and seeing them racing around the course trying to spot me kept me at different mile markers kept me going when the legs started to question my decisions. My highlight was turning onto The Mall and seeing them all there, cheering, smiling and sharing that moment with me – a memory I’ll carry forever.”
Julie, PACT’s Events and Supporter Engagement Assistant, said: “It’s been an absolute pleasure to support Cormac both last year and again this year. His commitment, energy, and positivity have been incredible, and the dedication he’s shown to PACT is truly inspiring. We are so grateful for the time and effort he has given – and I very much hope we’ll see him back wearing a PACT vest in the future!”
Thank you for all your hard work, Cormac, helping us continue to support families at some of the most important moments in their lives. Congratulations for being this month’s Supporter of the Month!
