Thank you for visiting our website page and for your interest in volunteering at PACT. We are very grateful that you have thought of us and are keen to support our work, it means so much to us.
By donating your time and energy to volunteer with PACT, you can help us build and strengthen families through the outstanding adoption services, specialist therapeutic support services and inspirational community projects we provide.
We know that people apply to volunteer with PACT because, like us, they are passionate about the work we do. We want every volunteer to feel part of the PACT community, and we take care to ensure that each role is meaningful, well supported and positive from the start. For this reason, we think carefully about the volunteer opportunities we can offer and advertise all current roles on our website here.
We would encourage you to check the website regularly as our needs can change over time and new opportunities may become available.
Due to the nature of our work, all volunteers are required to complete safer recruitment checks before starting. We are therefore unable to offer short-term or ad hoc placements.
All volunteers must have the legal right to live in and undertake voluntary work in the UK. We are not able to offer visa sponsorship or support with immigration applications.
We are always grateful for the skills, experience, and dedication that volunteers bring.
If there are no suitable opportunities currently advertised, or if you feel you have a particular skill set that could support PACT beyond our regular volunteering roles, you can complete our volunteer expression of interest form.
This captures some basic details about you, your transferable skills and how you would like to support PACT. We can keep your details on file for up to six months and will contact you if we would like to explore your interest further. If you require the form in an alternative format please contact the HR Team at pact_hr@pactcharity.org

Examples of previous roles
Here are some examples of volunteering roles we have filled in the past:
- Volunteering on our reception desk to welcome visitors and answer phone calls
- Volunteering as a student or qualified therapist or counsellor to support the children and adults who use our services
- Supporting our PACT events with our friendly Fundraising and Events and Engagement teams
- Volunteering with our Marketing and Business Development teams to research new contacts or distribute marketing materials
- Carrying out a student placement year at PACT to gain valuable experience as part of your educational studies
- Sharing your own experiences of adopting by speaking at events or talking with prospective adopters
- Providing online support to other adopters via webchat on our CATCH platform

Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do at PACT. We have robust measures and best practices in place to safeguard and protect the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we take pride in maintaining outstanding safeguarding standards.
We expect all volunteers, both current and prospective, to uphold and share this commitment and we value everyone’s engagement and co-operation with our safeguarding processes to ensure that these are completed without delay.
Anyone joining our team is subject to PACT’s safer recruitment pre-appointment enquiries. These enquiries include providing documentation to evidence the right to work in the UK, a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check, overseas police check (if applicable), references covering at least 5 years, a complete previous education and employment history timeline and the completion of mandatory safeguarding training.
