Greyfriars Church has been on the same site in Reading for hundreds of years, offering a place of worship and serving vulnerable communities in Reading. To this day, they continue to deliver that mission as a group of believers coming from different parts of Reading, different backgrounds and different ages.
Greyfriars Church has been an incredible supporter of PACT. By providing funding towards our women’s community project, Alana House, the Church has helped us to support hundreds of vulnerable women in Reading through holistic, trauma-informed services. Earlier this year, Greyfriars opened The Atrium, an exciting, vibrant new place open to the local community aiming to be a warm, welcoming space to gather, be refreshed and nurture friendship and hospitality. The community space includes a bookshop and a specialty coffee shop which has kindly helped PACT to sell their limited-edition coffee produced by the women supported by Alana House.
Revd David Walker, Vicar of Greyfriars, said: “We are delighted to support the work of PACT, especially though the amazing sanctuary that is Alana House in Reading. As a church we exist to see Reading transformed by the love and power of Jesus and so it is a joy to help Alana House and PACT as they work tirelessly to see lives transformed among some of the most vulnerable women in our town. A huge thank you to all the team at PACT and Alana House, who do such a fantastic job.”
Thank you to everyone at Greyfriars Church for supporting us and for caring about the work that we do with women facing disadvantages in our communities; you are PACT superstars!
