Jackie is a wonderful volunteer who has been part of the HR team for over three years.
It was originally Jackie’s husband, Terry, who encouraged her to volunteer with PACT and together they have generously given many hours of support and time to the organisation.
Jackie worked with HMRC for many years, so has a methodical and meticulous mind which lends itself brilliantly to some of the work she does. Her involvement with the establishment of a new HR system has been invaluable.
On a personal level, Jackie is totally reliable and conscientious, and very much a part of the team. She attends team meetings and social events and is a dedicated ambassador for PACT.
As if this isn’t enough, attendees of our Reading’s Big Quiz in October will recognise Jackie as the person who calmly totted up all the teams’ scores!
Christine Roe, PACT’s Volunteer Co-ordinator, said: “Jackie epitomises the value of a volunteer by freely giving her time, experience and skills to support others. We look forward to her joining us each week and would be lost without her. She is a PACT superstar!”
Jackie said: ”I am overwhelmed at being chosen as Supporter of the Month as I don’t think I do anything amazing. I love my days spent in the HR team at PACT even when I spend hours on spreadsheets. The team have always been very welcoming and supportive and treated me as one of the team from my very first day.
“PACT is a wonderful charity working to find forever homes for children that need it as well as Alana House supporting women in many different ways. I especially love the work they do for women and children from abusive relationships as I was previously in an abusive relationship and would have loved to have the support they provide back then.
“Along with my husband, Terry, we are looking forward to continuing to support this wonderful charity for many years to come in as many ways as we can.”
