Kay, PACT adoptive parent

Kay adopted two children through PACT; her son in 2016 and her daughter in 2021. Both of her children have additional needs: her son has Downs Syndrome and her daughter was born with medical complications.

PACT works hard to recruit, assess and approve adopters for the many children waiting in care who have physical disabilities, learning disabilities or other complex needs, often as a result of negative experiences during pregnancy or their early life.

To raise awareness of the need for more adopters for children who wait the longest, Kay kindly agreed to take part in an interview with The One Show. In March, Kay recorded an interview at home with her children to speak about her own experience of adopting. The interview will be airing on The One Show in the coming months.

Kay said:

“I gladly did the interview for The One Show, as I felt it was a lovely opportunity to talk about my family and how, despite the challenges, adopting my two gorgeous children is the best thing I’ve ever done.”

Thank you Kay for supporting PACT and helping to raise awareness of this important issue; you are a PACT superstar!
