What’s on?

Alana House Reading is a holistic hub where women can access support from different agencies in a friendly, safe, trauma-informed environment. Agencies we work closely with include Change, Grow, Live drug and alcohol service, CommuniCare, which provides welfare rights advice, and Reading Borough Council which runs parenting classes.

The Alana House team work with a variety of other partnership-agencies to provide a diverse programme of activities, which are reviewed on a quarterly basis.

Due to the frequent changes in restrictions, we may need to adapt the way we deliver some of our activities depending on government guidelines at the time. Most groups will be held with smaller numbers, and in a shorter series of sessions. There will be specific processes in place to ensure groups stay Covid-secure. Some groups are unable to be held at Alana House, so there may still be some Zoom sessions. If you have difficulty using Zoom, please call the Alana House team on 0118 921 7640 or contact your support worker for help.

COVID-19 Information

In line with government guidelines and to minimise risk to our service users and staff, we are constantly reviewing how we can deliver our services safely going forward. Updates will be shared here and on our Facebook page.

Alana House service April - June 2021.

Alana House remains open for support by appointment only. If you need to see or speak to a support worker, please call the team on 0118 921 7640.

We are able to run some group sessions and courses with small numbers. Please see our monthly timetable here for details and contact your support worker or the office if you are interested.

Within the government guidelines we are still not able to run open drop-in sessions. We are looking to re-open the Alana House Community Café as soon as possible.

We remain open to new referrals (both through professionals or self-referrals). We will contact all those referred to us and explore what support we can offer or help ensure they can access other appropriate services. The referral form can be downloaded here. For self-referrals please call Alana House on 0118 921 7640 or email alana.house@pactcharity.org where one of our team will help you.

Please do not come to Alana House without an appointment as we cannot safely allow people in the building without an appointment being arranged in advance.

In normal circumstances, Alana House Reading also provides a crèche facility, accommodating children up to the age of five years. The crèche is currently available alongside some of our groups, dependant on needs. For more information please call the team on 0118 921 7640 or email alana.house@pactcharity.org

The crèche provides children with somewhere stimulating and safe to play and be cared for whilst their mother utilises the other facilities at Alana House. It is staffed by qualified NVQ early years practitioners who work with each child on an individual basis. The crèche is free of charge for women registered with Alana House. Please call in advance to check opening hours and availability.
