CATCH opens up independent membership

PARENTS and carers of children who have been in care or affected by early childhood trauma and professionals working with them can now join an online support platform which has previously only been available by referral.

Developed by PACT in 2017, The Children and Trauma Community Hub (CATCH) is a specialist website providing information, learning and support for adoptive parents, foster carers, special guardians, virtual schools and education and social care professionals.

CATCHconnect.org offers thousands of pages of online resources, webinars, films and podcasts on relevant topics ranging from behaviour, mental health and therapeutic parenting techniques to sleeping, County Lines and cultural identity.

Until now membership has only been available to parents, carers and professionals referred by CATCH partner agencies, local authorities or schools.

From 1st July, any parent or professional who feels that they would benefit from CATCH can purchase their own independent membership for just £5.99 a month or £60 for a year’s access.

PACT Chief Executive Natausha van Vliet said: “In the five years since we developed CATCH, many parents and professionals have told us how helpful they find resources on The Hub to help improve their skills and knowledge when supporting or caring for children who have experienced early life trauma as a result of abuse, neglect or loss.

“We wanted to offer parents and professionals whose agency or organisation isn’t currently a partner the opportunity to join CATCH and benefit from the amazing resources we have on there.”

PACT has been building and strengthening families since 1911.  PACT creates families through adoption services and provides lifelong adoption support, it empowers women who face multiple disadvantages to make positive changes to their lives through its Alana House Community Project and it supports children to heal from the trauma of domestic abuse through its Bounce Back 4 Kids programme.
