PARENTS And Children Together (PACT) is wishing a very happy Mother’s Day to all mums celebrating this special day after adopting children through the charity.
The leading independent adoption agency, which supports families across the south east through outstanding adoption services, award-winning therapeutic support and community projects, would particularly like to thank the 56 mums who adopted children with PACT last year.
One of those new mums is Chloe*, who with her husband Dan* adopted a baby girl, Megan*, with PACT through a Foster for Adoption arrangement. This initiative aims to give stability and continuity of care as early as possible to children who are very likely to be adopted by placing them with potential adopters who are also approved as temporary foster carers while decisions are made about the child’s future by the courts.
Chloe said adopting her daughter had been the best thing she had ever done.
She added: “I am 100 per cent convinced she was made for us and we were made for her. I just couldn’t imagine my life without her. She is my entire world.”
With more than 2,000 children waiting to be adopted, PACT specialises in finding secure and loving homes for children in care, including those who often face the longest wait for their forever family.
Jan Fishwick OBE, Chief Executive of PACT, said: “This Mother’s Day I would like to thank all the amazing women who have adopted children with PACT, particularly those who may be celebrating this special day as a mum for the first time.”
Lorna Hunt, Head of Adoption at PACT, added: “There are so many children in need of a loving mum. I would urge anyone who thinks they could give a secure and stable home to a vulnerable child to please get in touch.”
